Graduation Reminders for Seniors and Their Families

    • Each graduate will receive 8 complimentary tickets at no charge. Graduates do not need a ticket. Children under the age of 2 do not require a ticket as long as they are sitting in someone’s lap.

    • Graduation rehearsal is Friday, May 31. Students will meet at LNC at 8:00am to be bussed uptown to Belk Theater.  This will prevent students from having to pay for parking. Students MUST ride the bus to participate in graduation. Rehearsal is from 9:00am-12:00pm. Students will be back at LNC by 12:30pm. 

    • Graduates will receive tickets for graduation at the end of graduation rehearsal on May 31 as long as all of the following items are returned and all financial obligations are taken care of: laptop and charging cord, parking pass, books, athletic uniforms, etc. Graduates will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony unless all financial obligations are met.

    • Dress Code for Graduation: Please remember that graduation is a formal occasion.
      • Option 1
        • Wear an appropriate dress, dress pants with a blouse, or skirt with a blouse.
        • Wear dress shoes or nice sandals. Flip flops and tennis shoes will not be permitted. Shoes should not hinder walking up/down stairs. BRING SHOES TO REHEARSAL TO PRACTICE IN THEM.
      • Option 2
        • Wear a white collared, button up shirt with a tie.
        • Wear dress pants and dress shoes. Flips flops and tennis shoes will not be permitted.

    • The graduation ceremony is Friday, May 31 at 7:00pm at Belk Theater, 130 N. Tryon Street, Charlotte NC 28202. Parents should bring their graduates to the church by 6:00pm on Friday, May 31. Students are expected to leave graduation with their parents.

    • Upon arriving at the theater on the day of graduation, students should report directly to the Stage Door Theater on the corner of College and 5th Street (across from Roosters and cattycorner from Wake Forest University. Only graduates will be allowed through this door.

    • Doors to the Theater will open at 6:00pm, and guests who have tickets will be able to enter at that time. Remember: you must have a valid ticket to enter the ceremony. The formal announcement is not considered a ticket for admission.

    • Traffic uptown is very busy on Friday afternoons, so guests should allow plenty of time to arrive, park and be seated prior to the 7:00pm start. Once the graduate processional begins, no guests will be allowed to enter the Theater until AFTER the processional. Information regarding parking will be provided closer to the graduation date.

    • Families who need wheelchair accessible seating should plan to be amongst the first in line to get into the venue at 6pm. This seating is limited and only one person from the group will be able to sit with the person requiring wheelchair access. Another option is to be seated in a regular seat and an usher can take the wheelchair to the back of the theater until the end of the ceremony.
