Growing with Purpose

Prior to opening our first elementary school in 2017, each fall we accepted 200 new 5th grade students from various elementary schools throughout Mecklenburg and the surrounding counties. Once Lake Norman Charter Elementary East opened, it gave us the opportunity to develop 125 new students, from kindergarten through 4th grade, however this still only partially filled our available 5th grade openings. With the addition of LNC Elementary West, we will complete our feeder pathway by joining the 125 students from LNC ES East and the 75 students from LNC ES West to fully comprise our 5th grade class, thus becoming a complete K-12 family.

Message from the Principal

Welcome to Lake Norman Charter Elementary West, a school built on a shared vision of purposeful learning, strong relationships, and endless potential for every child. As the founding principal of LNC ES West, it is both an honor and a joy to welcome our students, families, and staff as we come together for the very first time to create something truly special. While our building may be new, our commitment is deeply rooted in what matters most – children. I am firmly committed to building meaningful, positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the wider community as well as to cultivate a school culture where children develop a genuine love of learning, leading, and serving.

As we begin this exciting chapter together, you can expect learning experiences that are active, engaging, and deeply relevant. We believe in teaching beyond the test and preparing students for the future by ensuring they are Fully Armored – grounded in strong academics while also developing the durable skills needed to lead, contribute, and thrive in an ever-changing world. Our students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, adapt confidently, and act with empathy, integrity and responsibility.

I am deeply grateful for our committed staff, our families embarking on this new journey with us, and our incoming students who will define the heart of LNC ES West.

Club Days at ES West

Club Day at the elementary school is designed to encourage leadership, spark new friendships, and introduce students to fresh experiences. Students in Kindergarten through 4th grade participate in a club interest survey during the first few weeks of school and are then placed in one of their top three choices.

The names of clubs and the months we will host clubs at LNC ES West will be updated at the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.
