Lake Norman Charter will accept applications for a public school lottery for students in grades K-12 for the 2019-2020 school year from November 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019.
LNC is in its 21st year of operation and has been awarded an “A” grade by the NC Department of Public Instruction since it initiated that school grading system.
There are no fees or tuition to attend Lake Norman Charter. We provide a rigorous college prep program that prepares our students to be successful at their college of choice and beyond.
We opened our elementary school in August 2017 with grades K-2 and added grades 3 and 4 in the 2018-2019 school year, making Lake Norman Charter a full K-12 school.
The LNC motto is “Together, we learn, lead and serve,” and all students experience leadership and service opportunities which are integrated within the school’s curriculum. You may view a video about our school.
As mandated by our Charter from the State of North Carolina, open slots will be filled through a lottery. Any applications received after the lottery application period (January 31) will be placed at the end of the waitlist of the grade applied for, in the order of receipt, after the lottery has been held.
Applications are not accepted, and new students will not be admitted, after the 20th school day.
Siblings of currently enrolled students are given priority for enrollment.
Please note: The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, Division of Charter Schools, mandates that out-of-state residents are not eligible to participate in the lottery.
