Knights Kids Director
Lake Norman Charter’s Knights Kids Afterschool Program is available for students in kindergarten through 4th grade. It is designed to meet the needs of working parents and to provide a safe and stimulating environment. Children will remain on the elementary school’s campus and the program will include homework time, snack, recess, and selected age-appropriate activities and games. Our Knights Kids Counselors will be on site to provide an environment where children can unwind after a long day of learning.
Application Information
Knights Kids Afterschool Program at LNC East is operating on a waitlist for the 2025-2026 school year. If you would like your student to be added to the waiting list, please contact Ms. Carter at ccarter@lncharter.org.
Elementary School West
We will offer a Knights Kids program at the ES West! Look for more information closer to the beginning of school.
Days of Operation
Knights Kids will follow the Lake Norman Charter 2025-2026 School Year Calendar. If the school is closed due to a holiday, inclement weather or break, Knights Kids will also be closed. Knights Kids is closed for teacher workdays, half days, and remote learning days. Please refer to this list of important dates.

Games/Arts & Crafts
Tuition is divided into nine equal payments. Tuition fees are deducted by automatic bank draft each month. Ongoing enrollment in Knights Kids is determined by keeping current with billing and automatic drafts.

Knights Kids Employment
Requirements
- Sophomore, junior or senior in LNC high school
- Available 3-4 days/week
- Shift times 3:15pm - 6:00pm Monday-Friday
- Responsible and reliable
- Enjoy working with children grades K-4
- Positive role model for others
Responsibilities
- Lead and support students in program activities
- Monitor safety and follow security procedures
- Uphold the structure of the afterschool program within assigned groups
- Work collaboratively with co-counselors to maintain group cohesiveness
- Prepare, organize, and clean equipment and spaces utilized by the program
