Week of January 17

MS BOYS' BASKETBALL
1/19/22:  The LNC Knights finished their season at 10 – 2 and 2nd in the conference. The boys hosted Charlotte Christian for the first game of the conference tournament.  The game was close all the way to the end, seeing several lead changes throughout, and in the end, the Knights were able to pull out the win 54 – 50.  LNC was led in scoring again by Markus Kerr with 25 points, as well as a season-best performance from Drew Johnson, with 12 points, including a big 3-pointer in the 4th quarter to help put the game away.  Other scorers were Owen Kuhn with 10 points, Langston Holder with 4 and Drew Weber with 3.  

MS GIRLS' BASKETBALL
1/19/22: The girls ended their season with a tough loss to Holy Trinity in the playoff game, 27-15. They kept it within 3 the entire game, but the opposing team just had more in the tank in the fourth quarter. Nonetheless, it was a great season filled with hard work and fun. 
LNC stats: Reece Long 6 points, Caroline Mercuri 4 points, Callie Genece 4 points, Ayrianna Torrence 1 point 

HS MEN'S BASKETBALL
1/20/22:  LNC  60 - NW Cabarrus- 48
LNC stats:  James Carswell 19, Charlie Fox 13, Jake Magnuson 8, Koy Burnette 8, Isaiah Martino 6, Brady Kester 6

HS SWIM
1/20/22
The team competed in their fifth meet of the season against West Cabarrus High School, Hickory Ridge High School and Concord High School. The Knights swam hard and finished in 2nd place.  Overall scores are as follows:  

1st - West Cabarrus HS - 188
2nd - Lake Norman Charter - 173
3rd - Hickory Ridge HS - 117 
4th - Concord HS - 84.  

Kyle Hawkins (JR), won both of his individual events.  Also bringing home first place finishes were Presley Horton (SO) and Ethan Hill (JR).

Relay winners include: 
Women's 200 Medley Relay - Kristina Rooney (SO), Presley Horton (SO), Addison Lasarsky (FR) & Anika Kolano (SR) 
Women's 200 Free Relay -  Megan Wozniak (SR), Kristina Rooney (SO), Presley Horton (SO) & Anika Kolano (SR).
Men's 400 Free Relay -Kyle Hawkins (JR), Ethan Hill (JR), James Burroughs (SO) & Devin Buckler (JR),

A special mention to our 500 Freestyle swimmers; Ethan Hill (JR), Carter Hall (FR) & Ethan Licata (FR).
