Week of March 28

MS BASEBALL
3/28/22:  LNC 5 - Providence Day 4 
Owen Kuhn had 2 hits and 4 RBI's and Jack Costanoble scored 2 runs. Trevor Cook and Dylan Wignot both had an outstanding day as pitchers and only gave up 3 hits combined. 

MS SOFTBALL
3/29/22: LNC 15 - Providence Day 0
Quinn Clark struck out seven batters en route to the complete game shutout while scoring two runs herself. Joanna Bernard helped to keep the shut out in the last inning by catching a hard hit fly ball to right and quickly threw it to Hayden Krombolz for a double play that looked destined to be a base hit. Silvy Schild was a perfect three for three at the plate including a grand slam in the park home run.  Sarah Negrete hit two doubles to drive in four runs and also scored two runs herself. Mary Grace Brown also hit a double and single and scored two runs herself. Abby Courtney, Morgan Gadd, Grace Hamlin, Kendall Ruffolo and Claire Wilson all contributed by getting a hit, getting on base or scoring a run.  Everyone got to play in the game and contributed to the win.  

MS BOYS' TENNIS
3/29/22:   Providence Day took all six points in singles action but that didn't slow the Knights down. Their scores improved in doubles; Austin Cunningham and Rohan Manargudi shut out their opponents 8-0 to win at No. 1 doubles. Unfortunately, that would be the only point on the board for LNC. The team played hard in singles and doubles but ultimately lost the match 1-8.

MS SOCCER
3/29/22:  LNC 1 - Providence Day 1
Caroline Mercuri scored the winning goal in the first half of the game with a quick assist from Reece Long. The girls put up a hard fight with the help of London Stafford's incredible passing, Isabella T’s extensive technique and the strong goalies, Elena Dudan and Makenzie Bunting.

3/29/22:  LNC 4 - Providence Day 16
Stevie Parker showed great effort at the middie position with a team lead in ground balls.

HS WOMEN'S SOCCER
3/29/22:  LNC 9 - Concord 0
Kayla Patel (Jr.) started the half off strong with the first goal in the 12th minute, assisted by Rylie Cook (Jr.). Six minutes later, Haven Stanley (Sr.) scored the second goal with an assist from Eliza Rich (Sr.). Rich assisted Stanley 2 more times in the 22nd and 23rd /minute, resulting in a hat trick for Stanley. In the 27th minute, Stanley assisted Annie Poteat (Sr.) for the 5th goal of the game. Rich proceeded to score the last 2 goals of the half in the 34th and 39th minutes assisted by Patel and Asha Thamodharan (So.). 

In the second half, Cook scored in the 58th minute with an assist from Stanley. To finish out the game, Rich scored her third goal in the 59th minute with an assist from Aleyna DeVoe (So.). The game ended in a mercy rule. 

HS WOMEN'S LACROSSE
3/28/22:  LNC 11 - Community School of Davidson 16
The game was a tough fight for the Lady Knights, but the players showed hustle, drive, and momentum on the field! In midfield, junior Meredith Bordeaux proved to be a great force, controlling 2 draws and fielding 2 ground balls! Junior co-captain Gaby Bernardo also assisted in midfield by controlling 5 draws to match her 5 fielded groundballs! The Lady Knights were also happy to have standout midfielder and senior co-captain Mary Sorvillo back on the field, showing out at the game with an impressive 9 goals, 1 assist, 5 draw controls, 5 ground balls, and 3 caused turnovers!

On the offensive end, co-captain and senior Bryn Shepler fought hard, causing 1 turnover on the redefend, while also fielding a groundball and controlling 1 draw for possession! On defense, standout defender and senior Peyton Graham came up with a goal for the Lady Knights, while hustling all game in both defense and midfield! Sophomore defender Jordan Cornellier also came up with 2 ground balls in the game to keep possession!
