This game was slated to be tough, with the Knights losing to the Spartans the last time they faced off. The team fought hard and together to come up with this win, and we could not be more proud of how each and every player hustled.

In midfield, junior co-captain Gaby Bernardo played through some rough contact and put up 4 goals and fielded 2 ground balls along with junior Meredith Bordeaux who assisted 1 goal and went hard on transition defense! Sophomore Sloan Turner pitched in 2 ground balls for the team to keep possession of the ball, along with senior Megan Wozniak who pitched in 3!

The defense played as a unit, sliding and communicating well with one another to prove their team chemistry to be very strong!

On attack, senior co-captain Bryn Shepler got in 2 goals and rode hard for every ball in transition. Freshman Ava Purser also made herself seen, with great off-ball movement and cuts, even pitching in an assist to a goal!

MVPs of the game were sophomores Jordan Cornellier and Aubrey Hamm, along with senior co-captain Mary Sorvillo. Cornellier made noise on defense, causing 1 turnover, fielding 3 ground balls and running up a coast to coast to finish out the first half of the game. Hamm, the goalie of both halves at the game, had an extremely impressive 50% save percentage, saving 10 of 20 of the shots taken by the Spartans! Lastly, but certainly not least, Sorvillo put up 5 goals for the Lady Knights, fought hard on the draw, and helped to lead the team to this big win!

Shoutout to the goalies, sophomore Aubrey Hamm and Natalie Barry, with Hamm saving 9/18 shots taken on her and Barry saving 6 shots!

The MVPs of the night were freshmen Bella Arango and Elli Demeo and junior Sofia Blasucci! All 3 players have seen significant improvement over the course of the season and it showed in their hustle in pursuit of the ball! Arango played great defense, forcing stops and causing passes, Demeo took her first 8-meter shot of the season and showed strong lacrosse IQ with smart cuts and passes, and Blasucci has proven to be an asset on midfield as well as attack with her speed in transitions and communication on the field!
