Week of May 9

5/11/22:  LNC 2 - Providence 0
The Lady Knights fought their way through the game to pull out a big win over Providence and keep their undefeated record on their home field. Coming out strong, Riley Cook (Jr.) had a breakaway starting in midfield, and dribbling past the entire Providence back line, scored the first goal of the night in the 27th minute. Shortly after, keeper Imani Anzaya (Soph.) made a huge save from Providence’s free kick; rounding off the first half with a 1-0 lead for the Lady Knights.

Although Providence came out strong in the second half, the Lady Knights kept their composure and lead. Later into the second half, right forward Haven Stanley (Sr.) hit a beautiful cross across the face of the goal, finished by Eliza Rich (Sr.) in the 73rd minute. As the Lady Knights increased their lead in the game, they continued to keep a tight ship in the back. Anzaya got a great workout tonight, but held her own in the goal, keeping a clean sheet. The Lady Knights held off Providence for the rest of the game, gaining another win for the record.
