HS WOMEN'S SOCCER
5/19/22:  LNC 9 - St. Stephens 0 in Round 2 of 3A Playoffs
The Lady Knights began the game with an offensive onslaught with 4 goals within 7 minutes. Goals were scored by Eliza Rich (Sr.) and Haven Stanley (Sr.) with assists by Stanley, Rich, and Kate Robinson (Fr.). Riley Cook (Jr.) continued the Knights' momentum with a goal in the 11th minute with an assist from Stanley. After Cook’s goal, the Knights slowed down and goalkeeper Imani Anzaya (So.) pulled out a great save against a free kick in the 22nd minute. The Lady Knights picked it back up in the 33rd minute with a goal from Kayla Patel (Jr.) with an assist from Cook. Just 4 minutes later, Reese Robinson (Sr.) scored off a corner kick from Stanley. To finish off the half, Rich got her 3rd goal of the night by stealing the ball off a defender with just 40 seconds remaining in the half. The half finished with the Knights leading 8-0. 

In the second half, Stanley gained her third goal of the night in the 44th minute with an assist from Elle Augier (Sr.). The game ended in a mercy rule after Stanley’s goal. 

5/16/22: LNC 13 -  West Charlotte 0 in Round 1 of 3A Playoffs
The Lady Knights had 6 different goal scorers for their 13 goals. The game started off with an own goal due to the pressure Kayla Patel (Jr.) put on the opposing team’s defense in just the 3rd minute. Six minutes later, Eliza Rich (Sr.) got her first goal of the night with an assist from Haven Stanley (Sr.). Rylie Cook (Jr.) scored with the help of Patel one minute later. After this, Brianna Hatch (Sr.) had back-to-back assists, gaining Rich and Stanley a goal each in the 8th and 11th minute. Just 30 seconds after that, Stanley earned her 2nd goal of the night after stealing the ball from a defender.. Annie Poteat (Sr.) played a beautiful ball to Rich, who then earned her 3rd of the night. Following that, Hatch got her 3rd assist of the night which gave Stanley her 3rd of the night in the 13th minute. The Knights were able to keep the momentum when 4 minutes later, Gabbi Soos (Sr.) earned her first goal this season. Asha Thamodharan (So.) was able to steal the ball from a West Charlotte defender and score the 10th goal of the night in the 17th minute. One minute later, Stanley kicked a corner to Rich which she then scored, giving her 49 goals for this season, a new record for goals in a single season. With the Knights up 11-0, Stanley earns her final goal of the night in the 19th minute. With the half coming to an end, Madison Buffington (Fr.) scored with an assist from Kaitlyn Kosicki (So.) in the 27th minute. The Knights were able to keep possession for the remainder of the game.
