Week of October 10

MS BOYS' SOCCER
10/12/22:
The boys soccer team finished up their season under the lights at the Charlotte Christian School field playing a tough Country Day team. At half the score was 1-0. It was a full team effort and everyone had a good game. Even though the boys lost, the improvement from the first game to the last was tremendous. The goalies played well today. The midfielders worked hard on offense and defense and our strikers had some good chances. Great job Knights!

MS GIRLS' TENNIS
10/14/22:  
The MS girls played amazing in the 2nd round of playoffs but sadly came up just short, losing 4-5 to Country Day. No. 1 Kate Champion played one of her best matches as she beat her opponent 8-5. At No. 6, Karalyn King pulled off a big win in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (9-7). The other two wins came from Kate and Tanvi Prabhu at No. 1 doubles and Vaishnavi Divyakola and Karalyn at No. 6 doubles. In exhibition play, Taylor Purcell won her match 8-6. The girls learned a lot, improved so much, and had fun this season. Way to go, Knights! Great job this season!

10/13/22:  LNC 6 - Charlotte Christian 3 in the first round of playoffs
The Knights took a 4-2 lead heading into doubles. Kate Champion and Tanvi Prabhu had an impressive 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles to give LNC the overall win. Vaishnavi Divyakola and Karalyn King were down 3-5 at No. 3 doubles. They fought hard and won 5 straight games to win 8-5. Singles wins came from Tanvi at No. 2, Pranati Kakani at No. 4, Vaishnavi at No. 5 and Karalyn at No. 6.  Way to go, Knights!

HS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL
10/10/22: 
The Lady Knights defeated Central Cabarrus in 3 sets with score of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-12. Congrats to all 8 of our seniors as we celebrated them on senior night!  Job well done ladies! 

HS JV VOLLEYBALL

The JV Knights defeated Central Cabarrus in 2 sets with scores of 25-14 and 25-16.

HS WOMEN'S TENNIS
10/11/22:
The women took 1st & 2nd place in singles & 1st place in doubles at the Conference Tournament. Our 2nd doubles team also qualified for the Regional Tourney with a Top 6 finish. Congrats to Luci Falls, Conference Singles Champion!  Luci's toughest match was against teammate Eleina Moon, who finished as our conference runner up.

In doubles, LNC's 1st team, Sidney Ross & Ananya Sriram, are Conference Doubles Champions!  LNC's 2nd doubles entry, Sophia Phillips & Aileen Huynh, had a strong conference tourney run, finishing in the top 6 and qualifying for regionals.

HS CROSS COUNTRY
10/12/22:
Wednesday the HS cross country team traveled to Salisbury Community Park for their last regular season conference race.  SPC #3 Results. The Knights had an impressive day and both the men's & women's teams walked away with big wins. Leading the way for the men was the trio of Javon Taylor, Stevie Parker & Cooper Wozniak who only spanned 21 seconds. The ladies were equally successful with their win over the rest of the conference. #4-9 runners ran as a very strong pack as they were only separated by 47 seconds.  Our top 3 ladies of Lily Yampolsky, Jenna Peterson & Caroline Peterson continued to look strong. The team also had 13 new personal records & another 3 new season's bests. Great effort team! Go Knights!
