Week of August 23
What a way to start a new season! Congratulations to the Lady Knights on their first win of the season. The girls defeated Charlotte Latin yesterday, winning the first set 25-16 and the second set 25-13. All of the girls contributed to the win and played an awesome match! Reece Long and Madison Van Nortwick both had great serving streaks and Ella Landman has several kills. The coaches are so proud of each player.
MS BOYS' SOCCER
The middle school boys lost their home opener to Latin 7-0. The boys blocked or saved 12 shots and played tough defense the entire game against a strong opponent. Offensively we had 3 good shots and 4 corner kicks. Overall the team improved as the game went on.

HS CROSS COUNTY
The cross country team competed at the Providence Invitational at McAlpine Park in Charlotte. This marked the first invitational in almost 2 years. While it is still early in the season and the weather conditions were not ideal (very warm), the Knights came and competed well.
The men's team finished in 5th place overall out of the 19 schools. Leading the way was senior Braden Bole in 7th place, which was good enough to earn him a medal. Other scoring individuals were Cooper Wozniak, Javon Taylor, Brady Rowland and Kris Chambers.
The women's team had three individuals up front from the very start, which helped them bring home the 1st place team trophy. Sophomore Lily Yampolsky led the way with her 2nd place finish which was just in front of junior Jenna Peterson's 4th place finish. Also coming home with a medal was senior Megan Wozniak in 12th. Rounding out our scoring positions were Sophie Powers and Morgan Tartal.
