Week of September 27

The tennis team traveled to Charlotte Christian. At No.1 doubles, Eleina and Kate won 8-5. At No. 3 doubles, Averi and Pranati won 8-3. At No. 2 singles, Kate played very well in her match but lost 7-9. Hanna got her first win of the season in her exhibition match, winning 8-1! In another exhibition match, Emily played hard but lost 7-8. Ultimately, we lost the match 2-7.

The middle school girl's tennis team played their last home match for the season. It was a rematch with Charlotte Latin. They won many more games than their first meetup but ultimately, we lost the match 2-7. At the No. 1 seed, Eleina played so hard for her 8-6 win. At No.1 doubles, Eleina and Kate won 8-5. Pranati got her first win of the season in her exhibition match winning 8-4. Congratulations!

The boys played the Knights of Charlotte Christian on Friday night. The LNC Knights continued their scoring success with another goal off a free kick by Shreyas Polishetty. Exceptional play by TJ Pacitto, Brooks Cooper and Mason Holcomb kept the game close. The Knights of Charlotte came out slightly on top of the Knights of Lake Norman. Although it was a loss, the LNC team continued to show improvement.

The boys' soccer team tied with Charlotte Latin. The Knights' goal was scored by Shreyas Polishetty. Goalkeepers Zane Metz and Asher Little only allowed 1 goal past in 5 shots. Outstanding play by Evan Cuis, Tripp Burns and the entire defensive team kept the score tied. This is a great result against a tough team. The team would also like to thank the girl’s volleyball team for their encouragement during the game.

The boys' team placed 3rd, with Stephen Parker once again taking 1st overall with 11:19, congrats Stephen. Devin Chiu was team #2 in 12:42, Alex Franzese in 12:47, Sri Koundinya in 13:09 and Gabe White our #5 in 13:55.

The Lady Knights placed 8th with Daianah Racziu in 14:48, Sofia Franzese in 14:50, Karalyn King in 15:02, Mikayla Freeland in 15:22 and Praaish Meta in 15:39

Junior Jake Magnuson scored a fantastically exciting goal with 30 seconds left to go in the 2nd half of the game to lift the LNC men’s soccer team over South Rowan High School. The final score was 2-1. Magnuson also scored a 1st half goal to even the score. Sophomores Noah Brett and Richard King are credited with the assists. With tonight’s win, the Knights continue on a 5 game win streak and bring their record to 7-3-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

The men’s soccer team continued its win streak tonight with a 9-0 win over West Rowan High School. Both senior Mitchell Tucci and junior Jake Magnuson scored 3 goals each while junior Nick Nowick scored 2 goals.

In a game rescheduled due to inclement weather, the LNC men’s soccer team improved to 5-3-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play with a 3-0 win over Jesse Carson High School.  All 3 goals were scored by senior  Mitchell Tucci in the first half of the game. 

The Knights defeated Christ the King 45 to 8. Touchdowns were scored by Quincy McKay, Brent Ryerson(2), Aidan Albury, Avery Wilkerson, and Ronnie Massingale scored touchdowns. Duncan Schneible went 6 for 6 on extra points and made one field Goal. Cameron Ryerson threw for 2 touchdowns.

The Lady Knights defeated South Rowan to remain in 2nd place overall in the South Piedmont 3A conference with scores of 26-24, 16-25, 25-16, 27-25. The Knights are now 8-2 in conference and 12-2 overall.

JV Knights defeated South Rowan with scores of 16-25, 25-18 and 18-16 to remain undefeated in conference (10-0) and overall (14-0)!

The Lady Knights lost a hard-fought battle against West Rowan with scores of 16-25, 24-26 and 18-25.
