Week of October 4

The Lady Knights lost a tough match against Covenant Day but finished their season with a winning record of 8-3.  Thank you to all of the students and staff who came out to support the team throughout the season. 

The boys won their game on Wednesday. Zane Metz scored the team’s go-ahead goal, but the entire team played a part in the victory. The team improved with every game and it is great for our final league game to be a win. Great job Knights and good luck in the conference tournament next week!

Boys' soccer lost to a very powerful Covenant Day team. Both goalkeepers had a record number of saves; good job Asher Little and Zane Metz! The coaches appreciated great performances by Ashrith Kattika, Adrian Mohseni, Tanush Parasu, and Calen Smith.

The girls traveled to Covenant Day for their their last regular season match. At No. 1 singles, Eleina Moon won 8-1 and at No. 2 singles, Kate Champion won 8-3. At No.1 doubles, Eleina and Kate won 8-4. The entire team played their best tennis today but we lost the match 3-6. A coach from the other team commented on how much our team has improved from our first meetup. The final score does not reflect all of the points won by our team.

The runners had a very exciting meet at Cannon with big time improvements. The girls' team placed 6th out of 9. Sky Yampolsky came in 9th overall with 12:27, Diananah Racziu in 13:50, Sofia Franzese in 14:16, Mikayla Freeland 14:19 and Karalyn King in 14:51.

Our boys' team placed 3rd out of 8. Stephen Parker again was 1st overall with a big time improvement at 10:27 and Devin Chiu ramped up his time with 11:57. Alex Franzese came in at 12:10, Sriswaroop Koundinya at 12:32 and Gabe White in 12:43

So proud of these runners, they all improved their times and ran well! Keep up the great work.

The LNC men’s soccer team’s 6-game win streak was snapped tonight by #1 Concord High School in a thrilling, very competitive match. The Knights fell to the Spiders 2-3.  LMC's goals were scored by senior Arjun Gangassani and junior Nick Nowick. LNC falls to 8-4-1 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

It was another “clean sheet” for junior Chas Hawley, the goalkeeper of the LNC Knights. With a 9-0 win over Northwest Cabarrus High School, the team improves to 8-3-1 overall and 6-1 in conference play. Six different players scored in the game. Senior Arie Conder, junior Nick Nowick, junior Ethan Nichols and freshman Bennett Booker each scored 1 goal. Senior Mitchell Tucci scored 2 goals while junior Jake Magnuson scored 3 goals.

The Lady Knights continued their winning streak, defeating Concord in 3 sets (25-10, 25-13, 25-15) and bringing them to 10-2 in conference and 14-2 overall! Congrats to our seniors: Cadee Pierce, Catherine Schroeder, Nyla Smith, Delaney Stoy and Reece Shore!  

JV Knights remain undefeated with the win over Concord in 2 sets (25-7, 25-11). They are 12-0 in conference and 16-0 overall!

The Lady Knights defeated Northwest Cabarrus in 3 sets with scores of 25-12, 25-8 and 25-9, bringing them to 9-2 in conference and 13-2 overall.

JV Knights defeated NW Cabarrus in 2 sets with scores of 25-4 and 25-14 to remain undefeated in conference (11-0) and overall (15-0)!
