Week of October 11

The Knights finished up their season in the conference tournament and played their best game against a well-known opponent. The parents and coaches are proud of the grit and hard work put in by all the players. The improvement from day one was amazing. Great job boys!

The Lady Knights closed out their season at Cannon. It was a rematch at No. 2 singles for Kate Champion. While she previously beat her opponent in a close tie-breaker, today she won 8-1! At No. 1 doubles, Eleina Moon and Kate won 8-4. At No. 3 doubles, Pranati Kakani and Emily Barry beat their opponent 8-2. The entire team played hard but we unfortunately lost the match 3-6.

The Lady Knights finished the regular season with a win over Carson in 3 sets (25-13,25-11,25-18) to remain 2nd in the conference! The Knights are 12-2 in conference play and 16-2 overall!

The JV Knights defeated Carson in 3 sets (19-25, 25-11, 15-9) to remain UNDEFEATED in conference and overall! They finished their season 14-0 in conference and 18-0 overall! Congrats on a FANTASTIC season ladies!!

The Lady Knights defeated Central Cabarrus in 3 sets (25-12,25-5,25-15) bringing them to 11-2 in conference and 15-2 overall. Great job by all the Lady Knights!

JV remains undefeated with a win over Central Cabarrus in 2 sets (25-8,25-12). They are 13-0 in conference and 17-0 overall!

The Knights had another solid performance with a 4-0 win over Carson High School. Four goals were scored by four different players. Sophomore Noah Brett, junior Nick Nowick, senior Mitchell Tucci and junior Jake Magnuson each had one goal. Goalkeeper, junior Chas Hawley recorded his sixth shutout of the season.

Men’s soccer team came out on top of a nail-biting, overtime thriller, defeating the Vikings of Central Cabarrus High School 5-2. On his birthday, sophomore Noah Brett scored the opening goal for the Knights to take an early 1-0 lead. The Knights and the Vikings would trade goals and end 2-2 at the end of regulation. The Knights would score 3 goals in overtime to take the win. Other goal scorers in tonight’s game were senior Jake Magnuson, junior Nick Nowick (2) and senior Mitchell Tucci. Lake Norman Charter moves to 9-4-1 overall and 7-2 in conference play.

The Knights and the Spartans started the first quarter with an epic back and forth between two old rivals The Knights started out with a 4-yard run by Ronnie Massingale, beginning the drive down the field that led to a touchdown from the one-yard line pushed through by quarterback Cameron Ryerson. Kicking powerhouse Duncan Schneible secured the extra point. After the Spartans answered with a touchdown and extra point of their own, Anthony Ryerson exploded down the field for an eighty-yard touchdown to make it 14-7 at the end of the first quarter. Ryerson’s impressive run was the last of the Knight’s touchdowns. The Spartans scored three more touchdowns before the end of the half to bring the score to 28-14.

After halftime, the Knights fought hard defensively, with notable tackles by Brent Ryerson, Aidan Albury, Evan Blackman, Ronnie Massingale, Quincy McKay, Nio Espinosa, Cole Rogers, Sir Thomas Lawson and Tyler Price. Backup freshman quarterback Grayson Harvey was able to get some reps in, and his passing game shows potential for future seasons. However, the game ended in defeat for the Knights with a final score of 52-14.
