Invest in Excellence Update
Invest in Excellence kicked off with an Intention Card for every family at Back to School Night in August. We hope to raise $215,000 by next spring so we can build our HS Student Union and upgrade our Media Center this summer. We are also excited to implement our expanded Math Club next school year.
HS Student Union – The Student Union will create an inviting, warm space as our students, parents and visitors enter our High School. The Union will provide our students with a space to work, socialize and collaborate. The plans include a coffee bar, printing and charging stations and comfortable seating.
Media Center Upgrade – The Media Center upgrade adds a dedicated production room with a green screen for our students to create, learning actively through doing. The upgrade also creates a classroom adjacent to the production room to be used by Mrs. Rogowski and Mrs. Danckaert for Digital Citizenship instruction and by classroom teachers who need an alternative classroom space. Both rooms will be constructed of a mix of translucent and sound-proof building materials for maximum function and flexibility.
MS Math Club Expansion – Expanding our Math Club will allow us to reach more students of all skill levels, teaching math using a hands-on, fun approach, increasing abilities and confidence.

HS Exams
HS mid-term exams began today and will go through December 20. Please remind your students to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive at school prepared for testing each day. HS students will be dismissed at 11:15am on all testing days.
Exam Schedule
Friday, December 15 - 1st and 2nd period exams
Monday, December 18 - 3rd and 4th period exams
Tuesday, December 19 - 5th and 6th period exams
Wednesday, December 20 – 7th period exams and any makeup exams
We would like to remind our families of the importance of student attendance on their scheduled exam day and time. The exam schedule is designed for maximum student success, giving our teachers time to review and students time to study. Students will not be permitted to take any mid-terms before their scheduled day. In the past we have found that students who have needed to take the exams early or postpone the exams until January do not perform as well. With that in mind, please do not schedule travel plans during exams.
Calling all Alumni!
Our LNC alumni are cordially invited to the 2018 Alumni luncheon and panel on Thursday, January 4 at the high school. The luncheon will begin at 12:15pm and the discussion panel will immediately follow where we invite our alumni to share their college and career experiences with our junior and senior class. Any alumni planning to attend should RSVP using this link. We look forward to visiting with our former students on January 4!
