School pictures 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony Slideshow Pictures Needed
Beginning today, December 1, through January 31, we need your 8th graders’ Kindergarten or 1st grade pictures for our End-of Year slide show shown at the Recognition Ceremony. Please send a digital (.jpeg) copy to lnc20188thgradepics@gmail.com. Mrs. Tonia Wiley-Genco will be collecting and recording the pictures for us. Please do not send baby pictures as only one kindergarten or 1st grade picture of your individual child will be included. Please be on the lookout after the winter break for information regarding gathering pictures of your child with their friends from field trips, school functions, or school activities such as sports from 5th–8th grade that include more than two students. Thank you for helping us make this a special time for the students.

PJ Day
Be warm and cozy in your PAJAMAS all day long on Friday, December 15 for the cost of $2.00. Pay your money in the morning carpool to the Builders’ Club members or advisors who are collecting. Thank you for supporting these Builders’ Club fundraisers.  All of the proceeds go toward helping someone in need.

5th-7th Grade MAP Testing
Students in 5th, 6th and 7th grades will be testing the mornings of Monday, December 18 and Tuesday, December 19. We are asking for your help in ensuring your child gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and is on time for school each morning as we will begin testing by 8:15am. Please remind your child to take the test seriously and to do his/her best work. The MAP is an online test and therefore your student's iPad is essential in order to complete the test. Please make sure that your student's iPad is fully charged and that your child brings his or her iPad to school both days. We do not have enough loaners to provide to students who forget their iPads.

As always, we appreciate your partnership with us in your child's education. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Graham at cgraham@lncharter.org.

Holiday Campsbasketball and baseball
LNC Coach Williams and LNC Knights HS basketball players are hosting their top-rated 3-day basketball camp for kids in grades K-8 on December 21-23. Camp runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm each day and is held at the LNC HS gym. Click here for the flyer and click here to register your child.

MS Baseball is holding a Winter Break Hitting Camp for kids in grades 4-8 on December 20-22 and again on December 27–29.  If you are interested in attending, you can find registration forms on Schoology or in the middle school office.

ONE Access Program is available for LNC students
Does your student make excuses not to read over the holiday break? We are excited to say that students at LNC will no longer be able to make the excuse they don’t have access to a book! MS LNC student now have access to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library program called ONE Access. This program is available to all students regardless of whether or not they live in Mecklenburg County. This program allows access to books, ebooks, audiobooks, music, video research databases, periodicals, courses on Lynda.com and more! To check out the amazing resources available through this program, visit www.cmlibrary.org. Students login to their account with the letters “lnc” followed by their student ID number. Their password is their four-digit birth year.

Please note: LNC policy applies to anything students access on their school-issued iPads, including ONE Access materials. Our book/resource checkout policy is based on the LNC honor code. If parents do not want their child to read a particular book or genre, we expect students to respect those wishes. Please email Ms. Rogowski, MS media specialist at mrogowski@lncharter.org if you would like more information.
