Middle School Overview

  • The middle school campus boasts a renowned reputation of academic excellence with a rigorous curriculum since the school began in the late 1990’s. The middle school is comprised of 800 students in grades 5-8 with approximately 200 students per grade level. Our low student-to-teacher ratio helps our teachers get to know their students and families while providing differentiated instruction within their classrooms. Our teachers are at the top of their profession and maintain high expectations for all students while providing lessons that are engaging and meaningful.

All middle school students take the four core academics, language arts, math, science and social studies, every day along with an array of electives that provide them with enriching experiences in the cultural, performing, and visual arts. The minds and bodies of our students are strengthened through our daily physical activity time as well as our physical education and health classes available at each grade level.

Our technological component of a 1:World program in which every student has a device, Smart Boards in every classroom, as well as keyboarding and computer classes is essential in this fast-paced 21st century global economy.

Lake Norman Charter believes in teaching to all aspects of developing middle school students and this includes leadership and school spirit. Leadership integration is an integral part of our students' day along with the development of school pride through extra-curricular activities, service learning, campus beautification and even pep rallies. These are the things that can’t be measured by a test, but are just as important in this ever-changing world our children are growing up in.
