  • MS CARPOOL CHANGE (Beginning Monday, January 13)

New MS Carpool Beginning Monday, January 13, ALL traffic (both North & Southbound) from the Middle School Carpool line will be directed around (not through) the Middle School parking lot (please see image). Access to the Middle School lot will be restricted to PTO / Elevate, Staff and Vans between 2:30 and 3:45pm. In addition, parents should NOT exit their vehicles or enter the Carpool Canopy Area.

If you or your designated pick up person does not have the Pik-My-Kid app, please be certain that they have the corresponding 3-digit number for each student they will pick up. Parents picking up students in tutoring, after school clubs and activities are strongly encouraged to plan their arrival to campus for 3:45pm or shortly thereafter in order to reduce the number of vehicles in carpool.

If for any reason your student does not reach your vehicle on the first call, drivers will be required to circle through carpool a second time with 4-way flashers on as they re-enter the “Announce Zone.” If this pattern persists for any period of time, please feel free to contact bbauer@lncharter.org for assistance in troubleshooting.

Thank you for your support of our continued efforts to improve campus safety!

LNC middle school has entered into partnership with PikMyKid, a phone app that will help us to maximize safety and efficiency with our afternoon carpool. If you haven’t already done so, please download the free PikMyKid app through your smartphone’s app store.

All MS parents should have received an email with the subject line LNC PMK TAG. The email will contain a printable copy of your student(s)’ 4.25” x 5.5” Carpool Tag(s) with their NEW and INDIVIDUAL Student Numbers. It is imperative that the NEW tags are prominently displayed in the windshield as you travel through carpool each day, beginning Monday, December 2. If you did not receive the email, please email Mr. Bauer at bbauer@lncharter.org.

Here are FAQs which will answer many of your questions.

Here are some tips to help parents navigate the PikMyKid program:

    • In an effort to increase the number of successful first attempt pickups, please instruct your student(s) to sit attentively during carpool and assist them in learning their new 3-digit ID number.
    • In an effort to limit traffic volume at dismissal time, please refrain from attempting to pick students up who are attending clubs and tutoring until 3:45 pm or later (when the MS parking lot opens).
    • Please allow for extra time during the first few weeks of implementation.

We appreciate your patience as we aim to improve your carpool experience at LNC with the integration of PikMyKid. Thank you for your support and have a great weekend!
