Lake Norman Charter recognizes the important relationship between academics and athletics, and we strongly believe that regular exercise, development of skills, and interscholastic athletic competition play critical roles in each student’s growth. The athletic department recognizes and supports that the primary responsibility of student athletes is educational and therefore supports the link of academic achievement to eligibility. Our sports program helps nurture integrity, pride, loyalty and overall character which builds school spirit. Lake Norman Charter offers a co-educational interscholastic athletic program for students in grades 7-12. Our middle school and junior varsity programs stress participation regardless of a student’s previous experience or level of talent. At the varsity level, we compete against other strong athletic programs.
Our goal for Lake Norman Charter athletics is to develop loyalty, sportsmanship, perseverance and leadership in each of our students. The final outcome is a better citizenry demonstrating these values throughout their lives. We encourage students to participate in athletics, granting each student the opportunity to continue playing their favorite sport or to learn new skills.
