What procedures should be followed if my student is absent for class?
Posted by:If your student has missed, or knows they will be missing, any upcoming class, the student (HS or MS) or parent (ES) should email or Schoology message their teacher to let them know they will not be in class. Your child will be responsible for making up any work assigned per the normal absentee protocol for that teacher. Parents should also email your school’s registrar (Valerie Norris at HS vnorris@lncharter.org; Jennifer Wolfe at MS jwolfe@lncharter.org; Sue Scott at ES sscott@lncharter.org) notifying the school of the student’s absence. As with a normal in-person school day, please continue to get a note from the doctor/dentist and send a copy to the school registrars. With a doctors note, your student will have their attendance changed from an unexcused absence to excused medial appointment. If you have any questions about your student's absences, feel free to email your school's registrars.

What is the best way for students and parents to communicate with teachers?
Posted by:Email is the quickest way to communicate with teachers and staff. Students and parents can also use Schoology messenger, however, many teachers and staff do not check Schoology messenger often. Please check with your student's teacher to verify the best way to communicate during school hours.

Will students and staff be required to wear masks while in the school building?
Posted by:All students and staff (K-12) are required to wear a facial covering/mask that covers their nose and mouth. Students and staff may remove masks during lunchtime and potentially other times when mask breaks can safely be conducted as directed by their teacher. Please note that face shields are not a substitute for masks.

Will LNC still require every LNC family to volunteer 10 hours (Serve10) for this school year?
Posted by:Understanding volunteer opportunities are limited this school year, we are waiving the Serve10 expectation (every family is asked to volunteer at least 10 hours per year at LNC) for our families.
Even though we have waived the Serve10 requirement for this school year, we encourage those who are able to volunteer to please do so. The PTO is currently looking for volunteers to assist in serving hot lunches to students at the HS, MS and ES. Continue to check the Serve10 page on the LNC website for additional volunteer opportunites that may come available while in hybrid (Plan B) learning.

How can I keep up with knowing if I have or have not paid for school expenses?
Posted by:LNC utilizes PayPal for paying for all school expenses. We recommend that parents create an email folder and file all their receipts from paid school expenses there.
