  • How does LNC plan to keep HS students safe in plan A?

    Posted by:

LNC will continue the same Safe School 2020-2021 Health & Safety Protocols we used while in hybrid learning. Students will be temperature checked as they enter the building each morning and students will be responsible for completing the attestation questions daily. All students will be required to wear a mask throughout the school day unless they are outside for activities such as Physical Education class, lunch, carpool, etc.

Students will continue to use one-way hallways and will eat lunch in their classroom or outside on nice days. Additionally, classroom desk/tables will face the same direction (forward facing toward the front of the room).

  • Why are HS students going back 4 days a week, not a full 5 days?

    Posted by:

HS students participating in plan A will go to school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesday will remain a Student Seminar Day as LNC must be able to support all learning formats including our distance learners. Wednesdays are set aside for our teachers to offer targeted student interventions and on-campus tutoring to HS students. It also allows us to perform a deep sanitization of our building.

  • In plan A, what is the procedure for HS students to make-up work due to an absence?

    Posted by:

Now that we no longer have cohorts learning at home, please follow absence and make-up work procedures found in our 2020-2021 Student Handbook found on our website. This means that students will receive make-up work upon their return to school from an absence. Only students who have selected distance learning or students who Ms. Rebecca Shipman, our District Health Coordinator, has placed on short-term distance learning will have access to the online assignments. Following our Student Handbook guidelines preserves the fidelity and integrity of in-person learning as well as that of distance learning for those families who made that decision.

  • If we chose distance learning for Q4 can we return to plan A after spring break?

    Posted by:

No. Distance learning is a quarter-long commitment and since this commitment had already been made, no changes can be made at this time.

  • Can we choose distance learning if we do not want to participate in plan A?

    Posted by:

Families who were concerned about Plan A should have contacted Mr. Smith at csmith@lncharter.org by Friday, April 2. Distance learning is a quarter-long commitment so any family that has elected that option will continue in that format through the end of the year (May 28).
