Schoology

  • LNC uses Schoology as our learning management system. Parents and students receive information based on the groups and courses (students only) to which they are connected. Schoology is used by teachers and students for purposes beyond communication and by parents to stay abreast of their student's academic world. We encourage all parents to educate themselves on this important school tool through these resources and to adjust their email notifications for the groups they join to best align with their preferences and reduce unnecessary Schoology email. The Instructional Technology Facilitators created a video for parents to familiarize them with Schoology and help them set up their notifications.

    LNC2Parent Groups

EVERY family should join the LNC2Parent group for the school their students attend (i.e., LNC2ESP, LNC2MSP and LNC2HSP). The school communicates brief information and reminders such as lunch order deadlines, Week at a Glance, information from the PTO, volunteer opportunities, carpool information, tips for making your student's school day better, etc. We also post links to view the principal coffee chats live on LNC2Parent groups. Here are the Access codes:

        • LNC2HSP:  M4XT8-Q43FD
        • LNC2MSP:  2MB34-KX3ZB
        • LNC2ESP:  B8ZHV-VJTK6

We understand that ES students are not as independent as MS and HS students, so the ES offers Mrs. Holland's Coffee Chat Channel (Access code SG74N-7RTGW). This is an interactive Schoology group for parents to ask questions for Mrs. Holland to answer.

    LNC2Parent Groups Resources

Within the group page for the LNC2Parent groups there is a Resource folder on the left. The folder contains links to forms, (i.e., driver chaperone statement, quick absence notification, Student Handbook), LNC staff favorite thing forms, the archive of principal coffee chats, information regarding athletics, Schoology instructions and codes, lunch ordering and a host of other helpful information. You may want to spend a moment familiarizing yourself with the Resource folder so you can quickly find information when you need it.

Class of / HS & MS Student News / ES Homeroom Groups

Students belong to their "class of" group corresponding with their year of graduation. ES teachers use the homeroom and "class of" groups on Schoology to communicate with parents about such things as what students are doing in the classroom and upcoming field trips. MS and HS teachers use "class of" groups on Schoology to communicate with parents and students regarding grade-level assignments, activities, etc.

Parents are encouraged to link their child to their parent Schoology account so they can view information their child sees.

Middle school students belong to the MS Student News group and high school students belong to the HS Student News group. These groups are used to communicate with students about club meetings, volunteer opportunities, etc. Only students can be connected to these groups; if you have a question, please ask your student to show you the information in the student news group. If your student is not connected to their "class of" group or needs help with Schoology, they should contact the Instructional Technology Facilitator at their school (ES: Ms. DiVito, MS: Ms. Rogowski, HS: Ms. Lord).

    Parent to Parent Groups

Parents can connect with other LNC parents on student business matters via ES, MS and HS Parent2Parent. Joining parent to parent groups is optional; the school does not use P2P groups to share school information. Parents use these groups to form carpools and discuss homework or material presented during class. These Schoology groups are not intended to be forums for discussion of school policy or parent concerns; parents should follow the Student Handbook for procedures on how to resolve those matters. If parents have a question about a school matter, they should consult our Staff Directory at www.LNCharter.org/staff or "Who Do I Contact" at www.LNCharter.org/contacts.

Here is a list of codes to join the Schoology groups.
