Students Hear from WWII Vet
Last week our MS students heard from Dr. Lenzy Wallace (WWII Navy veteran) and Ms. Adrianna Wallace (Air Force veteran) about their experience of service to our country. This compliments 7th grade’s current area of social studies, World War II. Ask your student about this or check out this video! Thank you LNC parent, Dr. Leigh-Beth Lairamore, for helping to coordinate the event. Pictured with the Wallace’s are Dr. Graham and Dr. Lairamore and her children.
MS Field Trip to See Wonder
On the morning of Monday, December 4 middle school students will attend Wonder at Northlake AMC. Wonder is a remarkable movie and we expect the film to reinforce the message of acceptance and tolerance.
The field trip price of $10 includes your student's movie ticket, snack pack (popcorn, water, fruit snack) and transportation. We will use buses to transport our students and, due to limited capacity at the theater, are unable to accommodate parents. The students will attend the movie with their entire class, however the four grades will be staggered over the entire morning.
Click here to pay for this field trip. The PayPal webpage has a link to the required permission slip (if you have more than one MS student you will need to complete a permission slip for each child).
Students will eat lunch at school, although the time may be slightly different than their regularly scheduled lunch. Students whose families chose not to attend will remain at school and receive an alternative assignment. We are excited to share this remarkable movie with our middle school students!
Congratulations Math Team
Congratulations to the MS math team who advanced to the 3rd round of the National Math Madness Tournament with a 35-28 win over St. John's Episcopal School from Margarita, California. The team was led by Jeeya Shah, Sean Huynh, Mason McElroy, Braden Boyle, and Raghav Sriram.
Operation Gratitude Results
We collected 162 pounds of candy for our Troops as part of Operation Gratitude! Thanks to LNC-parent and dentist, Dr. Dan Skotzko and his 6th graders Aidan and Noah, for shipping it all to California, where it will be added to care packages and sent to our active military serving around the world. Thank you to all of our students and families for showing their support of our armed forces by donating their Halloween candy!
Annual Toy Drive
The Builders’ Club is sponsoring our annual Toy Drive from November 1 to November 30 to benefit the needy children attending the Christmas party held by the Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen. If you would like to donate a new toy for children between the ages of 1-16 years, please have your child drop the gift off in the hall outside the MS office into the big, black bins. They do not need to be wrapped. Thank you for supporting a very worthy cause!
LNC Honor Roll
Congratulations to the students on the LNCharter honor roll for the first quarter, 2017-18 school year. Click here to view the honor roll list.
