MS Knights News - April 13, 2018

deadline 2018-2019 Course Selection
Online course registration for 2018-19 ONLY applies to rising 7th and 8th grade students and will close this Sunday, April 15 at 11:59 PM. Please make sure that you and your student submit his or her elective requests by Sunday night so you do not forfeit the opportunity to choose courses for next year. Be sure to print or save a copy of your final course request submission for your records!

If you are having difficulties with creating a PowerSchool account or have questions on how to complete course registration online, please refer to Schoology. Tutorials and course descriptions can be found in the "Class of" and "MS Parent to Parent" groups under Resources. The most important resources are linked below.

If you experience problems in PowerSchool that prevent you from creating the Parent Account over the weekend, please use the student login information found at the very bottom of the PowerSchool letter (that was sent home 3/21 with report cards) to log into your student's PowerSchool account. You will be able to register for courses that way.

To All Rising 8th Grade Parents – Electives Information
Rising 8th grade students should select their most desired courses in the "Electives" screen. If the student wishes to take two quarters of PE, please choose PE in both the "Electives" screen and the "Alternate Electives" screen. Other than PE, do not choose the same elective in both the "Electives" screen and the "Alternate Electives" screen. Doing so may not provide enough elective preferences to complete your student's schedule. While we cannot guarantee that students will receive all of their elective choices, we will do our best to accommodate their preferences.

To All Rising 6th Grade Parents
Online course registration and creating a parent account in PowerSchool does NOT apply to our rising 6th grade students. If your student is not taking band in 6th grade, they will be given all eight electives throughout the 2018-2019 school year. If your student is currently in band and has chosen to take year-long band again, they have already completed their elective request for 6th grade.
