Board of Education Vacancy

  • The Lake Norman Charter Board of Education is accepting applications to fill a vacancy beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.

We are seeking a candidate from the human resources, business or educational fields who has a skillset and passion for developing and supporting the implementation of a "future ready" strategy at LNC. The successful candidate will be interested and equipped to help lead LNC forward as we prepare our students for an evolving post-high school landscape increasingly influenced by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The new board member will co-lead a future-ready committee that ensures our students are well prepared to meet this changing environment and its challenges and opportunities head on.

The primary purpose of the board of education is to set policy, provide oversight and approve and oversee the management of the school budget. Our charter provides for the role of the board in the form of several committees: budget and finance, investment, audit and evaluation, and policy and personnel, as well as several board-approved subcommittees that revolve around our strategic areas of focus and needs. Service on the board of education requires a time commitment as well as some prior knowledge and/or skill in the particular area. The board of education meets monthly, typically the first Wednesday evening of each month.

Applications are due May 15, 2024.
